Island Life

Hello bloggers! This editorial has been saved on my desktop forever, so I thought I'd finally share it with you guys. Right now it's freezing in New York, which makes me upset because 1) it's spring and 2) this time last year was so nice! Also, my school is weird and my spring break isn't for another 2 and half weeks, so I've really been lusting over warm weather and exotic vacations. That's why this editorial really stuck out to me - the bright colors and island settings make me want the warmth even more. And it was shot in Puerto Rico, where I was born, which makes me love it even more of course! Also, the model is Camille Rowe and the spread is called "Camille Aux Caraibes" and since Camille is my name, I can just close my eyes and imagine it's actually me in those shots with amazing clothes, hahaha. So, for those of you who are somewhere warm, just enjoy, and for all of you that are somewhere cold like me - here's a little something to keep your hopes up for the spring and summer!

A Look at Paris F/W '11

Since it took me so long to do this post (I just don't know where the time went!), I thought I'd do something different than the usual recap of my favorites. By now you've probably all seen all the runway pictures from Paris, so I thought instead I'd share some of my favorite pictures from behind the scenes and close-up details. Basically not your typical photos! Hope you enjoy!

From London to Milan, F/W '11

You know the drill....

Acne - Acne is another brand I became obsessed with through my internship at Glamour, and I really really love this collection. Everything from the shapes and the rose hues to the fantastically colored leather catches my eye.

Burberry Prorsum - Because Christopher Bailey can do no wrong. I mean, just look at that first coat!

Twenty8Twelve - Someone please buy me every single item in this collection, for my Fall 2011 wardrobe because I would wear them all.

Christopher Kane - the patterns, the detailing. I love this. I'm usually kind of.. hard to convince when it comes to mixing and matching crazy prints, but I love the way this is done in darker shades!

Fendi - I can't with all the beautiful, beautiful coats. And I love the neutrals with pops of bright primary colors!

Marni - I love the prints here so much. Some quiet and subtle and some very loud, but they all work so well.

No. 21 - I really am obsessing over rose hues right now, and this collection uses them so perfect. I especially love it paired with the army green!

What're some of your favorites from the past couple of weeks?
Paris to come next!

Oscars 2011

Another award season has come and gone with the 2011 Academy Awards this past Sunday wrapping it all up. Oscar Night was a fun night spent watching the show with friends - I came in second place amongst my friends with the home ballots!! I got 11 categories right and was neck-in-neck with my friend until it all came down to Best Picture. He put The King's Speech, and I The Social Network. Obviously The King's Speech won and so I didn't win the competition but I'm still happy because that was a great, great movie as well. Aside from the many awards given out (pretty happy with all of them), there were many great looking men in tuxes and, of course, the red carpet. Here are my favorites from the night!

Mila Kunis was my favorite of the night. She looked stunning and that Elie Saab Haute Couture dress is absolutely perfect. I thought that the color really looked great with her skin-tone and hair.

Loved Natalie Portman in custom Rodarte - she's been a favorite of mine all award season and this dress definitely tops the list. She even gave a shout-out to the Mulleavy sisters in her acceptance speech! ; Scarlett Johansson also wore a wine color in this lace Dolce & Gabbana dress. I thought the dress was gorgeous and her messy hair is the perfect accessory; That white Chanel Haute Couture gown is perfect and it looks flawless on Michelle Williams. I loved that she didn't pair it with a lot of accessories so that the beauty of the dress really stands out.

I thought Hailee Steinfeld looked great in Marchesa. She's really good at looking glamorous while still being age-appropriate and you can tell she's going to be an it-girl when she gets older; I thought Jennifer Lawrence looked really elegant in this simple Clavin Klein Collection number. The dress is minimal, but definitely sexy; Co-host Anne Hathaway made a gorgeous entrance in this Valentino gown. Also, how cute is it that Valentino himself was Anne's arm candy for the carpet?

And while we're talking about Anne Hathaway, let's just talk about the fact that she got to wear eight (EIGHT) different gowns as co-host. I definitely think Rachel Zoe and Anne make the perfect celebrity/stylist team because Anne always looks flawless. Here are my favorites from the show!

This Versace dress was definitely my favorite - and maybe hers too since she wore it the Vanity Fair after party as well. The scalloped sweetheart neckline is literally to die for and I love the detailing. (Also, James Franco looks great (as always) in that velvet tux.)

I loved these four looks the most. The dresses were all fun, chic and elegant at the same time - which is very Anne to me. And, I mean, the tux with those shoes (and James in a dress)?? What's not to love. From left: Givenchy Haute Couture, Lanvin, Oscar de la Renta, and Armani Prive

I'll be back to fashion week favorites in my next post!
