The Blues

Hey guys! Life is still super busy, yesterday was my only day off so my boyfriend came in to the city and we had a fun day of adventures! But my camera has been dead and I need to remember to charge it, haha, so no pictures at the moment. But I hate leaving you guys hanging so I wanted to share this great editorial from Exit Magazine's Spring/Summer edition! It features model Alisa M. photographed by Greta Ilieva in all the latest denim trends. First and foremost, I love love love the denim! And then I love the pin-up feel to it and even the setting of these. The lace curtains and the wallpaper are perfecttt! So enjoy bloggers !

Cactaceae

Hello all! With the grand opening of the Times Square Forever 21 on Friday (!) work has literally taken over my life! I feel like I live there haha, and any time not spent at work is spent doing loads of homework that I still haven't finished. By the way I promise to get back to your lovely comments - But I couldn't leave you guys for so long so I figured I'd do a quick editorial post. The Summer issue of Tokion Magazine just came out and after seeing some spreads thanks to The Fashion Spot I can't wait to get my hands on it. I loved most of the spreads, and it was even difficult for me to decide which one to post on here - I might end up posting more later ! But I thought I'd share the one that got my initial attention, Cactaceae. The model is Jessica Mau from FORD Models, with photography by Juco and styling by Jak. I absolutely love the muted colors and the old feel to it. Enjoy!

Simple Days

Hey there! So I have a new Summer roommate who doesn't go to FIT (she's interning at a dress firm for the summer) and she's actually never even been to New York before! So, of course we've been trying to show her around and yesterday we went to Times Square for a little bit and were all cliche and whatnot going into Toys R Us and the M&M's store. While I may have done it a million times, it was fun and it was a nice not too hot day outside so I got to snag some outfit pictures! Just a simple outfit, wearing one of my favorite skirts that I got last summer from H&M! I paired it with a simple black top that I recently got thats has lacy top and black flats. I love classic simple things like these pieces that can be worn with virtually anything!

Born to Privilege

Hi bloggers! Hope you all had a good weekend! I had to work yesterday till close which was not fun, but I got to go home for a bit on Friday and I went shopping which is always good! :) I'll show you some of my new things real soon, my favorite finds were a multi-print one shoulder dress, a white denim jacket, and black cargo pants! Anyway, today I wanted to share with you guys a spread from July's Vogue Nippon. This was posted around a week ago and you've probably seen it around the internet world, but I absolutely love it so I had to post it here. Abbey Lee Kershaw looks amazing photographed by Angelo Pennetta and styled by Sissy Vian. I also love the look and the feel of the high contrast photos! Enjoy!

June Inspiration

Before I delve into my favorite looks for the month, I wanted to point out that I did change my layout again! I probably change my layout around too much but that's okay, I finally figured out html for Blogger and I really like this one so it'll probably stick around for a lot longer! What do you guys think of it? Also, I wanted to point out the awesome image in my header that I found thanks to My Owl Barn, it's by My Folk Lover aka Catherine Campbell on etsy. She has some amazing pieces so you should really check out her Etsy shop here!

Moving on, for June I'm feeling very vintage. And usually I'm into the 60's but Spring and Summer trends have turned me on to a more 40's look and I really can't get enough! A few must-have items on my summer shopping list: oxfords, high-waisted silk shorts, trousers, scalloped finishes, nice hats, open backs, a high-waisted bikinis, lace, and lingerie-style clothing. Actually the Sparkle & Fade Paramount Bikini from Urban Outfitters is on it's way to me in the mail right now! I'm really excited. Anyway, without further ado, here's some inspiration for June...

Polka Dots

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was actually super relaxing because I had off from work so my boyfriend came into the city! I went shopping, and Saturday we went to Union Square to walk around and look at all the artist vendors. I love Union Square - it's so pretty and there's always vendors there, a lot of artists are always there and you can really find some amazing works. I ended up getting these two magnets that were hand-drawn pictures of Twiggy and the NYC skyline - I love them! After that we tried to go to the free Yeasayer show on Governer's Island but got shut out, so instead we just walked around battery park and took pictures! I just got this yellow polka-dot dress from H&M - I was so surprised by it, it was the last one and it was super cheap at only $13.95! I got a lot of compliments on it and its my new favorite!!

Forever 21 x Danny Roberts

Hello there bloggers of the world and anyone that still reads this blog! So, I went on a two month hiatus.... I do feel bad that I never posted anything saying that I was but it was just for the best. Someone close to me told me that it was okay to step back from something if you can't handle it and come back to it later. I was just too stressed; I had 6 hard-core classes at school and then my mother broke her leg in the beginning of April so I was going home a lot to help out. I was exhausted physically and mentally and it gave me major writer's block. So during April I was too busy, and I told myself that once May came around I would start again. But come May I just wanted a break from always doing something, not to mention that I had final exams and projects to worry about. So I decided not to come back just yet. I missed blogging a lot, and in the meantime I posted a lot on my tumblr (owlwings), but to be honest I really needed that break and it was nice. Two months is enough though, and even though I still have a lot going on I promise that I'm back for good now. I am going to be easier on myself though. I'm in the city for the summer taking two classes and working at Forever 21, so it's still a lot. I'm not going to make a lot of promises on this blog and I'm just going to post what I can. I think posts that actually have some good stuff in them is more important than posting frequently. I do have some new features and things in mind, but you guys will just have to wait and see! I may or may not redo the layout, but I'm not sure yet. And finally, I've decided to make this blog a bit more personal. I got a wonderful new digital camera (a Nikon P100) and so I'm going to start doing outift posts. I know everyone does outfit posts and it's not original or anything but I really do think it adds something to a blog that readers can really relate to a real person! Anyway, my first will probably be tomorrow! & I hope the blogging world can welcome me back with open arms!!

So I thought it was appropriate that for this post I blog about the new Forever 21 x Danny Roberts collection since I'm working there! It just came out officially on the 2nd for all your purchasing pleasures, but I saw the shirts in the stock room last week and was super excited about them. Five of the shirts are from Danny's Blogger Portrait Series, and one is of two models. The Blogger ones feature bloggers Carolina Engman of FashionSquad, Geri Hirsch of Because I'm Addicted, Agathe Molvik of Style Bytes, Alice of AlicePoint, and Louise Ebel of Miss Pandora. I've followed Igor & Andre for some time and I love love love his artwork so much! A few of his works have made appearances as my desktop background! The shirts are an awesome homage to the blogging world and they're made of a lightweight breezy material for summer. And of course, they're a great Forever 21 price. I'm still trying to decide which one I want, because I'm definitely getting one for myself! If you haven't already, check out Danny Robert's artwork at Igor & Andre and at Danny Roberts.
